Rooftop Yoga in sunny Peckham

When I first set out to run rooftop Dru Yoga classes in Peckham I certainly didn’t expect to be teaching in 30°c heat and under stunning clear blue skies! In fact a few people sniggered at me when I told them about the idea. But what an amazing time we have had the last two Saturdays, up high above the streets of south east London, basking in this joyful weather.

It feels like we are all sharing a special treat as we make our way up to the roof, the yoga mats shining in the sun, the view – and London – stretching out before us.

I couldn’t have asked for a more magical way to start my new adventure in yoga. Having left the desk job just four short weeks ago, I am delighted to be embracing this finest of London summers. And with such a lovely group of people joining me on the roof each week, I have a grin from ear to ear.

We’ve worked with our inner warriors and our breath. We’ve danced the beautiful Natarajasana, saluted north, south, east and west, and rested in Savasana under the warm embrace of a sun we see all too little in the UK.

The forecast for the next few weeks is good, and it looks like we might hold on to our summer secret for a while longer yet, but whatever happens in the skies* we’ll be there in the car park doing yoga each week until 14 September.

If you would like to join us, please register and book now to secure your place.
