I’ve got the chance to take a few folk to Andalucia Glamping in November for some wilderness and prana top-ups before winter hits. Would you love a last-minute spontaneous yoga adventure?
Saturday 12 November – Wednesday 16 November
Do you ever feel like you just need to get away, pack a bag and head to the hills? Well I’ve got just the thing – join me for a yoga adventure that is exactly that, complete with Glamping, fresh mountain air, sea views, open skies and scrumptious food.
The lovely folk at Andalucia Glamping are throwing open their canvas doors for us, for a four night adventure into the wilds of these Spanish coastal mountains. Set in a stunning location this mountainside Glamping site boasts gorgeous sea views and beautiful, quirky accommodation.
This yoga holiday is all about spontaneity and adventure, so I can’t tell you exactly what each day will entail. But what I do know is that, whatever the weather, we’ll be practicing yoga on the terrace at least twice a day and there will be beautiful food freshly prepared for you. Plus we’ll have Angie’s craft workshops that you can join in with, to exercise your creative spark.
We are not going to schedule this holiday too much, because it’s all about you. And time and space for you to choose what you do. Our hosts at Andalucia Glamping – Angie, Julian and Luke – will be on hand though to help with lots of local knowledge.
We’d recommend you hire a car, although transfers to and from the airport are available. Angie says you can walk down the mountain to town, but you’ll need a pretty sturdy set of lungs, and legs, to get back up!
Perhaps you’ll choose to spend your time gazing out at the sea, reading a book. Or indulging in a few board-games on the terrace. Maybe you’d like to go out walking in the surrounding mountains, or go horse-riding? You could even head down to the beach and go for a wild swim. Or if you want a quick dip there’s a plunge pool on the terrace looking out to the sea.
If you’ve got a car you could head to the town of Torrox and while away a few hours in the local bars, or go to the beautiful Frigiliana, a gorgeous Pueblo Blanco with a brilliant little tapas restaurant just down the coast. Or head in-land to the lost village of El Acebuchal and explore the history of remote Spain and the Spanish Civil War.
Or you might just want to hang out at your tent supping some of the scrumptious Yogi Tea. They are sending us off to Spain with some lovely boxes of tea so we can truly relax and build up our energy for winter.
November is a wild-card month in Andalucia in terms of weather. Average temperatures are around 18˚ in the day, dropping to around 10˚ at night. This is pretty much reflective of an average British summer so it sounds fine to me!
But come prepared for sun, rain, wind and a bit of cold. Bring your light layers, your fleece, hat, gloves and suncream! We spend so much time avoiding the weather in the UK, this holiday will be about embracing it.
