Where are you going to practice yoga this winter? How about an auditorium made of straw and concrete, tucked into a hidden corner of the multi-storey car park in Peckham? Or a grade II listed Art Deco ballroom in London’s first co-operatively run pub?

The Auditorium

Following the success of Rooftop Yoga on the top floor of the Peckham multi-storey car park this summer I am now launching a winter venue to rival the summer’s. Designed by Paloma Gormley and Lettice Drake, the round auditorium, tucked into a corner on level 8 of the concrete multi-storey car park, is made entirely of straw bales and is lit with a soft orange glow and festoon lighting – you are unlikely to find another yoga venue like it!

Maintaining the slow and fully instructed yoga style taught up on the roof, I pair the yoga with lively activations to music that ranges from 90s dance tunes to 80s Hip Hop to Rock and Roll. Flowing sequences and postures are practiced to the more soothing sounds of Boards of Canada, Miles Davis, Alice Coltrane and Brian Eno.

Saturdays 10 – 11 am from 9 November
Please arrive no later than 9.55 am
The Auditorium, Level 8, Peckham multi-storey car park, 95a Rye Lane, SE15 4ST
£9 per class
Advance booking and payment is essential*

The Ivy House

Or if you prefer a little glamour in your yoga venue you can try my new early morning classes in another unusual space in Peckham – the Art Deco ballroom at The Ivy House pub in Nunhead.

The Ivy House is London’s first co-operatively run pub, and was saved from developers by the local community earlier this year. The pub which has seen the likes of Joe Strummer and Ian Dury regularly grace the stage is now owned by 371 shareholders and is a grade II listed building.

The coffee machine will be on for post-class takeaways so get up early and get down to the pub!

Thursdays 7 – 8 am and 9.30 – 10.30 am from 7 November
The Ivy House, 40 Stuart Road, SE15 3BE
£9 per class

Peckham discount card – £30 for four classes (valid for six weeks and can be used at all Peckham classes). Please ask at class or email me to arrange payment.

*Please note that this venue has no heating or toilet facilities. You are advised to wear layers and come ready and prepared to start the class. The nearest toilet is in McDonald’s on Rye Lane. Level 8 is accessed through the gate at the far end of Level 6 and this gate is locked promptly at 10am. If you are late I am sorry but you will not be able to gain access to The Auditorium. Please see Things You Need to Know for more details about my terms and conditions of attendance and payment.
