A Walk and Yoga in T’Woods:

Thursday 1 and Thursday 29 August  10am – 12pm

£8 per adult
Or one credit from your Lucyoga class pass

Meeting just before 10 am at the bandstand in Myrtle Park we will head out on a walk into the woods…

Spending time quietly with nature, particularly trees, is incredibly healing. It can help us to bring things into perspective, to feel connected to a bigger picture and to take some much needed time away from electronic devices, cars and general life stress.

Outdoor Yoga – Good for the Soul

We will take a nice walk to a special wooded glade I know, where we will do some gentle outdoor yoga. You won’t need a mat and you can choose if you take your shoes off or not! Practicing yoga outside is incredibly special – it helps to make you feel more grounded, more at ease and dissipates anxiety beautifully.

Forest Bath

The Japanese recognised spending time in forests actually increases life expectancy due to its stress lowering properties and have created a culture of doing this, calling it a ‘Forest Bath’ (no water involved!). In Yorkshire we would probably call it a meander in t’woods, but either way, it’s great!

Yoga and Walk in T'Woods in Bingley

Silent Meditation Walk

After our yoga session (probably 20 – 30 minutes long) we’ll then walk back through the woods in silent meditation. The session ends with an (optional) little paddle, to complete the total de-stress.

How Long Will it Take?

The session will probably take around 2 hours, but please leave plenty of time. If you’d like to bring a small picnic to have in Myrtle Park after the walk, please do! Please bring water with you for the whole session.

Please try to avoid rushing off after, especially for car parking!

No yoga mat needed.

Want/need to bring the kids?

If you think they’d be happy with a long(ish) walk and being quiet for around an hour in total, then absolutely! Kids come free too. But, if like me, you have a child who would be less happy with that then why not bring them to the Outdoor Yoga for Kids of All Ages instead?

Outdoor Yoga for Kids of All Ages

(plus optional Bring-Your-Own-Picnic)

£8 per adult – KIDS GO FREE!*
Or one credit from your Lucyoga class pass

Meeting just at 11 am at the bandstand in Myrtle Park we will head out on a walk to explore the park…

Combine the wonders of yoga and mindfulness for kids of all ages with time outdoors in nature. Take some focus, calm, self-acceptance, tolerance and non-competitive movement and mix them up with fresh air to create a lovely morning in the middle of the summer holidays!

What will it be like?

Starting with some moving mindfulness to connect to the environment around us we will walk as a group to our chosen yoga spot.

Once there we will take part in a fun, simple yoga session that will be for kids of all ages (but probably most suited to 3 – 9 year olds). Adults are very much encouraged to take part in the yoga too, this really is for all ages!

We will yoga directly on the grass so you don’t need to bring a yoga mat, but do make sure you wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty.

After our yoga session, if we still have enough attention (!), we’ll take a short mindfulness walk to practice our new skills of focus and concentration. If your little ones don’t want to join in, it’s all good!

Bring-Your-Own-Picnic

We will finish with the option to have a Bring-Your-Own-Picnic together. Bring a blanket and some grub and, weather permitting, we’ll stick around for lunch.

The session will probably take around 1.5 hours, or less, but please leave plenty of time. Please bring water with you for the whole session. Please try to avoid rushing off after, so you can retain the calm!

No yoga mat needed.
*Children MUST be accompanied by a responsible, paying adult. Adults are considered to be anyone 16+ and can have no more than four children per paying adult.
Adults remain wholly responsible for the children in their care at all times.
